What is Ablestate?

Ablestate is a free employer- developer matching tool. We help employers easily find developers for their software development needs.

Who owns Ablestate?

Ablestate is an initiative started by 3 Ugandans in 2018, with a mission to prepare and connect local youths to employment opportunities locally and even abroad.

Does Ablestate develop software products?

No. We are currently involved in helping developers get employment and access to professional training.


How do I join Ablestate?

To join the platform, simply Sign Up and create your profile. You will be required to fill personal information as well as your qualifications. This is important to help match you with the right employer.

What are the entry requirements?

Anyone who is either self-trained or taken a course in a technology-related courses. We are looking for front end, back end and full-stack developers.

What documents are needed during the application?

To make sure we have genuine applicants, you will be required to attach a scanned copy of your ID and a passport photo.

I am new to technology and software development, can I still apply?

Yes. If you have a passion to learn software development you can apply. We conduct training for persons with no prior knowledge in coding and help you gain marketable skills.

I have learnt coding but, don’t feel skilled enough for the market?

If you have prior training in coding or other software development related field, we offer a masterclass to help sharpen your skills.

Where are the employers located?

We have job opportunities from within Uganda and internationally.

How long does the training take?

Our training is categorized into two; the Masterclass and Boot camp.

Masterclass is short term training to help you sharpen your skills if you have prior programming language knowledge. They span 1 to 5 days depending on the track.

Boot camp is a long term running for a period of 2 weeks to 6 months. They are suitable for freshers and people switching careers.

Can I participate in both Materclass and Bootcamp training at the same time.

Yes, it’s possible. Let us know, so that we can make suitable arrangements.

What if I can’t make it to your training center?

If you are near a hub, you can get together with other interested persons in your area and inform us, so that we can make special arrangements to attend to you from that hub.

We also offer training off-premise like at your office. Contact us to start arrangements.

What can I learn at Ablestate?

To be specific our core is coding. We offer training sessions in various programming languages, developer tools, and disciplines such as web development, mobile application development, DevOps and desktop application development. Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things are in pipeline.

We also help kids, teenagers, and young adults (20 to 39) get started with technology.


How do I hire a developer?

To select a suitable developer, you will be required to sign up with the platform. Then you will be able to sign in and see available developers in the Ablestate platform.

You can also make a developer search within the platform or submit a request for our team to help you.

Are there any fees charged?

No. There are no fees charged.

Can I hire a developer from outside Uganda?

Currently we are only offering developers from Uganda. However, we will soon open up positions for developers from other countries.

I want to hire a developer(s), but don’t know how to get the right one?

We offer consultation services and we will help you to hire the right developer(s) that will be a good fit for your business needs.
